The Meeker Days Festival is Almost HereThe arrival of summer generally means warmer weather and longer days, but for the city of Puyallup, it also means that the Meeker Days Festival is right around the corner. Meeker Days is a free, weekend-long festival held every June that celebrates the city and the Puyallup community. People of all ages come together for three days to listen to live music, check out art and crafts from local artists, and to enjoy mouth-watering foods. This is a party you surely don’t want to miss out on!

Meeker Days was originally started in 1939 as a way to celebrate the founding of the city of Puyallup. It quickly grew over the years and today, Meeker Days is the largest street festival in Pierce County. Since the festival was established, the downtown area of Puyallup has grown and changed immensely throughout the years. Not only is Meeker Days a great chance for Puyallup residents to visit and explore downtown, but it also allows the community to connect to the historical roots of the city as well.

At this year’s festival, there will be over 30 live music performances spread throughout three days and three stages. Sunday June 18th will see the much anticipated Art Battle, a 20 minute event where artists go head to head creating art live in front of an audience. There will be three Art Battle rounds and the audience will get to participate in selecting a winner for each round. This is an exciting way for all to experience live art and to enjoy the outdoor festival spirit!

Meeker Days isn’t just any old regular street festival. Every year it showcases an antique tractor display and tractor pull races. Along with live music, food, and over 200 vendors, it also offers activities for everyone in the family! Kids and adults can enjoy rides and take part in free craft making and other educational exhibits. For more kid and teen friendly activities, there’s a KidsZone, a TeenZone, a zipline, and all have access to the community skate park! Adults can unwind and relax in the beer and wine gardens. What’s not to love?

Don’t miss out on all the fun, come join the Puyallup community at the Meeker Days Festival from Friday, June 16th to Sunday, June 18th.
